BRIEF SUMMARY THAT I DID THAT YOU WILL BE WRITING ABOUT:

This is my 3rd week at my clinical experience in public health at mend in Pacoima. I dont really like coming to this area becuase i feel very unsafe. i already know what to expect the 3rd week and i get to work. We get there at 8:30 AM as usual. we make more bags with canned beans, canned protein, rice, canned veggies and rice. We then took wooden crates and stacked the canned packaged onto the wooden crates and let me tell you those are heavy. When we were done, which took up our entire day to do that it felt really good knowing how many people we were able to feed and how so many people we’re going to have food on the table with their families. What was absolutely disgusting is that on wednesday we had to throw away a 1000 boxes of leaking rotten moldy cucumbers and the smell was terrifying. As students in nursing school i dont think dealing with mold of that degree should be allowed. The mold was leaking all over us and they made us do it and no one else helped us even. We even did that will it was sprinking outside and we had to break down the moldy boxes. I am traumatized from that. the homelesses dogs came on friday to our parking lot and i got scared because i do not want those dogs touching me. Friday came along and i distributed kale the entire time and some people didnt really know what kale was and it blew my mind that they wait for hours to get free food and have the audacity to give us attitude and be unhappy for some reason when us workers have to pay for our food and groceries. i noticed there are alot of ungrateful people in this world. a lot of homelesses came with their carts to get the free food but they mainly got canned/packed stuff they did not get the fresh veggies and fruits. Saturday we volunteered and mend hosted a farmers market which was similar to friday distribution day and i stood and distributed fruits!
