Students will select and study one Old Testament Character. To gain further insight into the biblical story and the chosen character’s role in the story, students should imagine themselves in their character’s “shoes.” Students will thendecide on a presentation format that adequately demonstrates their character and her/his relationship to the meta-narrative and/or salvation history. Students may choose from the following options: (1) visual or audio/visual media format (drawing/painting, comic strip, storyboard, social media posts; movie; video); (2) textual format in the voice of the character (poem, song, letter). In consultation with the professor, students may choose another format. Characters and format must be selected in Canvas 2 weeks before the assignment is due (see course schedule). For the project, students are expected to use Biblical dictionaries and other theological resources to gain a deeper understanding of their character and her/his relationship to the larger story of scripture.
In addition to the final presentation form (slides, video, audio, letter, etc.), students must submit a single page detailing the following:
(1) what scripture passages informed their project
(2) what resources* were used to research their character (bible dictionaries, books, articles, etc.)
*Please use at least 2 reputable theological resources. These can be accessed in the library or online, but must be reputable (i.e. not Wikipedia).
